Rogues Gallery | Darren Kennedy

16:21:00

This is the first entry in my Rogues Gallery series in a very long time. The series is a feature on men and characters whose style I admire and respect. I guess the reason it's been so long since my last post is that I haven't been that inspired!

Anyway, introducing the latest Rogue in my gallery; stylist, presenter and fashion polymath Darren Kennedy.

Not content with running his own successful site and sister site Help My Style which provides fashion advice to guys and girls, Darren has a regular Youtube series covering topics from fitness to interiors to haircare and fashion. Alongside this, he has also fronted documentaries on RTE covering subjects such as employment and gay adoption.

A Dublin native, Darren's cheeky Irish charm serves him well in his presenting, with a natural charisma and down-to-earthiness. His style is considered and while it is not dictated by trends, he obviously has a keen sense of what is going on which shows in his personal approach to outfit construction. He has been spotted shifting from suited and booted to streetwear and breaking rules with mixtures of the two and his trademark uber-quiff and glasses finishing off every look.

An alternative to the usual suit, a leather flight jacket is a real statement.

The guy knows how to work layers, playing with styles, colours and textures.

Darren likes checks and tartan almost as much as I do!
Wearing a flannel shirt as a lightweight jacket over knitwear puts a cool spin on outwear.

Mixing wool trousers with a track top and a shearling denim jacket takes balls and know-how!

Again with the clever layering, a statement floral bomber under a heavy winter coat for a burst of colour
