With a new season comes new possibilities and the potential for a whole new wardrobe. (That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.)

My wardrobe mostly consists of shirts - I'm sure most men of my age can associate. However, there is a clear distinction with the shirts falling into 2 camps; casual and work. There isn't really much that would fall into a going-out or party shirt.

Now the term party shirt can be dangerous. My interpretation is something that had a little more character without becoming a novelty. It's an opportunity to bring some pattern into your style, just don't take it too far - that's a NO to the caravan curtains!

Here's where the kind folks at Guide London came to the rescue. They are know for their sharp statement shirts and they offered me my choice of shirt.

 I opted for this polka dot shirt with a cut-away collar.

I don't have anything as lightly coloured in my wardrobe, so this is a departure from my comfort zone. .
The pale blue colour is contrasted with little spots of red and the collar, cuffs and placate is in a bright cobalt blue.
The shirt is quite slim tailored so they will look best tucked in - I'd pair it with a pair of classic blue chinos and to mix it up, I think I'd break out the braces too!
